Clean and Colourful Kitchen in Winchester
Transforming a tired old kitchen into a bright, colourful and clean-lined high-quality kitchen breakfast/dining and utility space
BRIEF
Clean and vibrant
Taking inspiration from Prue Leith’s own yellow kitchen, these Winchester clients wanted to update their tired kitchen and utility spaces using high-quality, colourful and clean lines with an adjoining breakfast/dining space.
It was important for the clients to have additional worktop space to incorporate Miele appliances, maximise storage and functionality and create a space which would reflect their vibrant personalities with colour at the forefront.
CHALLENGE
Custom innovative design
Chad began by creating a layout which would maximise storage, including the use of deeper cabinetry drawers and provision of additional worktop space. He also ensured all the Miele appliances were incorporated within a practical layout.
A central breakfast area dining space was included which adjoined to the kitchen and utility room. The cabinetry is from our in-house German-made Möbelife collection using a striking custom yellow matt-lacquer finish with sleek recessed grip cLine stainless steel handles that match elegantly with Silestone‘s Classic Calacatta 12mm Straight Edge worktops.
Lighting under the cabinetry provides atmosphere and definition within the space in the evenings.
The clients had fallen in love with Amtico Stucco Quartz from their Stucco Flax Design range and a lot off attention was given to the arrangement of the graduated colour tiles in order to create visual interest and harmony. The design established a gentle transition from the Utility to the Kitchen allowing each space to shine in a different way.
The utility room features Möbelife neutral-toned cabinetry in Matt Lacquer providing functionality in the home, keeping the main kitchen space tidy and uncluttered.

Colouful spacious living
The finished design delivers a vibrant, charming kitchen-dining area which blends bold colour, natural textures and geometric patterns. The interesting floor patterns and bright cabinetry creates a sense of joy and happiness in the clients home which they will enjoy for years to come. When friends and family visit they are inspired by this bright and welcoming space which brings much joy and pleasure.
We are truly overjoyed with our new kitchen, breakfast area and utility room designed, project managed and installed by The Myers Touch. There were a number of innovative design features including colour, flooring, stone countertops, appliances, lighting. My wife worked closely with the designer to achieve a high level of uniqueness. We must acknowledge the ability of the project manager to schedule and monitor all of the trades, especially when there were supply problems. This company has a motto that they want to create "a place that expresses Light, Space and Laughter for you". You can trust this company to deliver.
