2024 Kitchen Design Trends

Our Top Five UK Kitchen Design Trends for 2024. At the heart of our passion for kitchen design lies a commitment to always staying ahead of the latest kitchen design trends.

Our Top Five UK Kitchen Trends for 2024

At the heart of our passion for kitchen design lies a commitment to always staying ahead of the latest kitchen design trends. As a team, we find inspiration from our own rich history of architectural styles, whilst also taking cues from the emerging trends across the European design landscape.

With our carefully selected portfolio of design partners, offering us access to the best of British, German & Italian premium kitchen design, our inspiration is endless!

Here, we present a roundup of the top five trends that we believe will influence kitchen design in the coming year, and most importantly, are the trends that we believe will be here to stay.

1.       New Statement Surface Finishes

In 2024, we predict an increase in bespoke surface finishes that will add texture, personality, and individuality to kitchen spaces. The new material finishes from Eggersmann, our German design partner, are an example that allows us to create cabinetry and island units that offer a piece of individual craftsmanship. By combining different shades, shapes, and contrasting materials, kitchen furniture can be created to look entirely bespoke and handcrafted.

Materials such as lacquers, glass, slatted oak, Corian, brass, concrete & timber can be combined to create truly unique modern kitchen design schemes.

2.       Natural and Statement Stone

Natural stones, sintered stone and quartz will increasingly be chosen as the luxury material in many kitchens. We’ll be using these materials to showcase and define sculptured island units, statement splashbacks, frame sinks and workspaces.

Natural stones, sintered stone and quartz have become increasingly popular in homes as they blend with every design scheme and have a raw, natural and organic feel, whilst giving the look of opulence within a space.

“Sintered stonand quartz offer a wide range of qualities compared to sensitive marble, limestones, and hard granites. It’s beautiful, hard-wearing, stain-resistant, and sun-resistant” – Helena Myers, Director.

3.       Intelligent Lighting

Innovative kitchen lighting systems are allowing us to be increasingly creative and personalised, adding to the enhancement of certain design features and creating practical & adaptable task lighting.

The increase in lit and framed feature wall systems, illuminated cabinetry doors and chromotherapy lighting designs seen here in the UK and across Europe will allow us to go even further when it comes to enhancing definition, mood, and dedicated task areas in kitchen spaces.

One example of this is the new integrated Copatlife LED lighting technology displayed in our design studio. It features the intelligent Novy Wall light system under the wall cabinetry.

4.       Framed-steel sliding doors

Crittal-style steel door systems have been a dominant trend in interiors over the past few years and that trend will continue as we look to create more light-filled, modern & adaptable spaces.

Mobelife ADL Doors | The Myers Touch showroomOur steel-door partner, ADL Doors, offers a versatile system that can be customised to fit any home’s space, offering privacy when closed and an open-plan effect when open.

A design statement that also provides a practical benefit, letting in more light & creating height and space definition.

5.       Bespoke Cabinetry and storage solutions

We have seen more demand for functional and efficient storage solutions as our kitchens have become more multi-functional spaces. Examples such as; a functional & beautiful breakfast cupboard for a busy family, a desk within a slim pocket-door system to create a micro-study and even a cupboard designed especially for a Thermomix appliance.

An illustration of this was a recent installation of a concealed cloakroom and pantry which is accessed via discreet pocket doors. Pocket doors allow us to create entrances without taking up valuable floor space, in this example, creating a wonderfully discreet cloakroom behind the kitchen cabinetry.

Bespoke cabinetry allows us to cleverly unlock the most potential from your space, creating features that you may never thought were possible, a hallmark of truly high end kitchen remodelling.

Many of our clients come to us because they’re looking to entrust the right experts to help them create the kitchen of their dreams, often for their ‘forever home’, where their investment must stand the test of time. Being immersed in contemporary kitchen design for over 20 years, we’ve developed an intuition for the trends that we know will last and we’re confident that these trends will be here to stay.
